On June 12, 1942, Anne Frank received a diary for her 13th birthday. In fact, the version of Anne Frank’s diary many of you are likely familiar with, depending on the publisher, has had upwards of 30% of the original content removed. Margo and Anne Frank were among those forced to make the trip, but their mother, Edith, was left behind. She knew Anne and Margot Frank and remembers their last days. After the war ended, Otto Frank returned to Amsterdam where he ultimately learned that none of his family had been among the survivors.
